Son of Capt. Abner Lockett (abt 1743-1789), born in Goochland County, Virginia, and Anne Phoebe Marshall (abt 1743-1806), born in Cumberland County, Virginia. Both died in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. They had four children together, including Capt. Francis K. "Frank" Lockett.

Capt. Abner Lockett served in the American Revolutionary War in Virginia. Two of his brothers also served in that war, Lt. David Lockett 1735-1795 and Sgt. Jacob Lockett 1754-1820.

Frank's 2nd great grandfather was Thomas Lockett of Virginia 1645-1686, the first Lockett in this family born in Virginia. His father was also Thomas Lockett born in England in 1625 and died in Henrico County, Virginia, date unknown.

Capt. Frank first married Martha Goode Marshall 1787-1828 on March 8, 1802 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. Martha was born in Powhatan, Powhatan County, Virginia, and died in Henderson, Henderson County, Kentucky. They had five sons and three daughters together. Her grave has not yet been located.

Capt. Frank then married Lydia "Lillie" Hickman 1803-abt 1870, on Feb 22, 1831 in Henderson, Kentucky. Her grandfather Rev. Lt. William Hicklman 1747-1834 served as a Chaplin in the American Revolutionary War, and Hickman County, Kentucky is named for her Uncle Paschal Hickman 1783-1813. They had four sons and two daughters together. Her grave has not yet been located.
