Moved to Kansas with family in 1865

Kansas, Private, Co. M., 14th Cavalry.
Union, Enlisted Aug. 7, 1863.

Killed at Lawrence, Kansas in Quantrill's Raid. Was shot in the back while fleeing from Quantrill's men.

Gravesite Details

Headstone is quite small and there are two unrelated foot stones for a separate family quite close behind it. In the spring/summer there are a patch of purple irises that grow behind it.
