Funeral services for Percy A. Shipp, 74, of 135 East Prospect, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Trickett, assistant pastor of Noel Memorial Methodist Church. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Shipp died Monday in Willis-Knighton Hospital after a long illness. A native of Florida, he was a resident of Shreveport for the last 50 years.
Retired owner of Shipp's Radio Shop, he was a member of the Noel Memorial Methodist Church, Sous Chef de Chemin de Fer of the 40 & 8 Club, life member of the American Legion, member of the Templar Eye Bank, past grand commander of the Louisiana Knights Templar, member of World War I Club, Disabled American Veterans, past high priest of the Royal Arch Masons, past master of Lebanon Lodge No. 440 and past illustrious master of the Royal and Select Masons.
Survivors include his widow; and his mother, Mrs. Nell Shipp, both of Shreveport; and a stepson, Milton J. Miller of Navajo, N.M.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Harris M. Kaffie, E. Guy Gibson, Clarence Roberts, Herbert Jennings, Curry Thomas and R. E. Hopkins.
