Glen Harold "Bo" Ballengee

(MSgt USAF Ret.)

HAUGHTON, LA - A visitation honoring the life of Glen Harold "Bo" Ballengee will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.

Bo was born September 7, 1942 in Big Stone Gap, VA, to James and Gertie Ballengee and died July 20, 2011 at his home following a lengthy battle with emphysema. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Helen Dorton Ballengee, for 40 years. She preceded him in death in 2001.

Bo was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, having served a tour of active duty in Vietnam. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1984. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband who lived life to the fullest. Bo loved laughter, golf, having coffee with Bay Bay and playing Blackjack at the Horseshoe.

"Pops", as he was affectionately known, is survived by his daughter, Janet Alghareeb and husband, Michael of Heflin, LA; son, James Ballengee and wife, Waynette of Shreveport, LA; granddaughters, Mary Kilpatrick and husband, Johnny of Haughton, LA, Kathryn Gibson of Heflin, LA, Jordan Sandefur of Houston, TX and Morgan Ballengee of Shreveport, LA; and two great grandchildren, Bailey and Audrey Kilpatrick of Haughton, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Providence House, The Shreveport Regional Arts Council or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
