Jack W. Andres, Sr. 84, of Logansport, Louisiana passed on October 24, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born in Sutton, Arkansas to George Logan Andres and Mattie Bright Hamilton. Jack attended one year of college and joined the U.S. Air Force.
Jack, 84, spent most of his career as a Supervisor for Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company where he later retired after forty years of service. He was also a Veteran of The Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Air Force.
The greatest joys of Jack's life came from serving Christ through his church and through loving, encouraging, and supporting his family. Jack was a Christ-like servant, deacon, Sunday School leader, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle. All who knew Jack Andres respected him; all who knew him well, loved him.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Culpepper Andres, parents; George Logan Andres and Mattie Bright Hamilton Andres, brothers; John David Andres, George Logan Andres, and Charles Worth Andres, sisters; Ora Faye Galloway, Mildred Brownie Smith, and Martha Gertine Andres.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons; Jack Andres, Jr. and his wife Linda, Brent Andres and wife Jannine, daughters; Karen Andres Doxtater and husband Harold, grandchildren; Cara LeAnne Hyde and husband Jon, Harold Brent Doxtater and wife Rosa, Alyssa Whitehurst and husband Kyle, Alix Barr and husband Blake, Micah Logan Andres and Maddison Jayne Andres, sisters; Betty Ann White and husband Homer, Wanda Ruth Collins and husband Del, and brother-in-law; Marion Culpepper and wife Mildred, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, 10/27/13, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Additional visitation will begin at 9:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Logansport. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Logansport. Interment will be at Harmony Cemetery near Sutton, Arkansas.
Honoring his life as pallbearers will be his nephews with the Deacons and Gideon Sunday School Class members serving as Honorable Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jack Wayne Andres, Sr. may be sent to First Baptist Church Building Fund in Logansport, Louisiana.
