LYONS — Frances Tobias, 92, died Aug. 19 at the Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. Born May 26, 1917, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Adolph David Kimple and Lena May Gray. She married Cecil Tobias on June 4, 1946, in Lyons. He died April 5, 2001. She was a registered nurse and homemaker and taught nursing at Wesley Hospital in Wichita.
Mrs. Tobias was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lyons.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Tobias and Danny Tobias, both of Lyons; a daughter, Elaine Brandenburg of Central City, Neb.; a sister, Lois Janssen of Ellsworth; a brother, Keith Kimple of Lyons; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, A.J. and Chester; a great-grandson, Cody Maw, and stepmother, Florence Kimple.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Lyons with the Rev. Quentin Bennett officiating. Burial will be at the Lyons Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with family receiving visitors from 6 to 7 p.m. Viewing will also be at the church at 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Center or the First United Methodist Church, both of Lyons.
