Sweet Moe was an FFA lamb who was very loved. He made it through the Stockshow -- and his owner and caretaker, student Brandon Campbell was paid $600.00 for Moe. The buyer then gave Moe back to Brandon. His Granma Rachel gave him $285.00, the price that the meat truck wanted to give all the kids to take their lambs. Moe would have a great life in the country!
Moe was taken out to The Road - the Floyd Homestead to Live Happily Ever After to live with Gr-Gr-Aunt Pat and Gr-Gr-Uncle James Dodd. Brandon is their Great-Great Nephew. Moe arrived on Saturday April 2, 2011. Life would be different as Moe had no tail to fend off flies in the country, no misters to keep him cool and he was sheared. His horns were burnt off, and he was totally defenseless.
Uncle Travis Dodd and Kelli Campbell built Moe a pen and everyone welcomed Moe!! He survived and was not put on the meat truck with most of the other baby lambs. He was 200#.
Sunny Tuesday afternoon April 5th -- the Dodd's had to leave the road for an appointment. Upon returning, they were met with sad news. Precious Moe had attempted to jump over the barbed wire fence - his little throat badly cut as he was hanging helplessly. Uncle Travis and Cody ran to save him, but his windpipe was destroyed. Tiny babe had to be put down.
We are so saddened, we looked so forward to years of loving you precious Moe. This Great-Great Aunt and Great-Great Uncle are my Mama and Daddy, Pat and James Dodd. They would do anything to help any critter on God's earth.
