Veteran Civil War, Private, Company A, 42nd PA Infantry Regiment (Anderson Lifeguards, 1st PA Rifles, 13th PA Reserve Corps); enlisted in Lawrenceville, Tioga County PA on 21 Jul 1861, separated 9 Aug 1864, applied for disability pension on 19 May 1879. Gabriel T. Harrower, son of David P. Harrower (1805–1875) and Emily Cook Harrower (1809 - 1904), was named after his first cousin, Col. Gabriel Theodore Harrower, 161st NY Infantry Regiment. After the war he lived in Lindley, Steuben County NY, and Tioga, Tioga County PA, working as a farm hand. Census records indicate that he was married and widowed between 1880 and 1900, but the name of his wife is unknown. Cause of death: pneumonia.
