Sarah Ellen Combs McGlothlin
Birth: Apr. 8, 1886
Buchanan County
Virginia, USA
Death: Feb. 18, 1979
Wytheville
Wythe County
Virginia, USA

Sarah Ellen Williams Combs married to Davis McGlothlin. They were married in approximately 1907. Together they had four children: Greer Harvey, Clyde Sherman, Clyde's twin who died at birth and Paul Leonard.

I'm in the process of researching my new found ancestors. My father's death certificate identifies Sarah's last name as Williams, however family information I've found say her name was Combs, her mother's family being Williams. I'll figure it all out in time. Until then I combine the names.

Sarah was my grandmother. My father disappeared from my life at a young age and I'm not sure if Sarah ever knew I existed or not. I would have had 18 years to get to know her if we did have that chance. It's a shame, but I did have a wonderful grandma on my mom's side, so I know how great that can be, just sorry I didn't have two grandmothers to love.

Hello Grandmother, I'm not sure if you were religous, liked flowers or anything else, so I hope you like this plant. I was thinking of leaving you something about the confederacy, since that is what I was told all those years, but that may not be the case...(Read more)

Hello Grandmother. It's nice to finally find you. I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to know one another. Rest peacefully always.
