Miss Amy Blair Slaughter, 28, resident of 4809 Whisper Oak Drive, died March 10, 2001, at the Wake Forest University Medical Center following declining health since July.
She was born March 2, 1973, in Lee County, a daughter of William Blair and Glenda Keller Slaughter. She had been a resident of High Point and Archdale most of her life and was employed with Community General Hospital in Thomasville.
She was a graduate of Davidson County Community College with an associate degree in nursing and received from the Army Nurse Corps the Spirit of Nursing Award. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and the Singles Sunday School Class.
Surviving are the parents of the home; one sister, Mrs. Michael (Shannon) Cranford of Thomasville; one nephew, Tanner Cranford; one niece, Madison Cranford; and her grandmothers, Mrs. Myrtle Slaughter of Sanford and Mrs. Viola Keller of Morganton.
Funeral will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Green Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Alan Cox and the Rev. David M. Emery. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before and after the service at the church Monday.
Memorials may be directed to Davidson County Community College, c/o Amy Slaughter Memorial Scholarship Fund.
