Phyllis Y. (Hixon) Crum, 72, of Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly in Phoenix, AZ. She was the widow of Paul M. Crum who died in 1998. She was the daughter of the late Leslie V. and Jennie V. (Landvater) Hixon.
She was retired from the Computer and Information Systems Department at Penn State Harrisburg. She was active in the Haldeman Mansion Restoration Association. She also enjoyed studying family history, wildflowers and gardening, crafts, volunteer work, painting and traveling.
Phyllis is survived by two sons: P. Michael, husband of Lori Jones Crum, Trout Run, PA; Stephen S., husband of Teri Shutt Crum, New Bern, NC; one granddaughter, two grandsons and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, L. Edwin, husband of Judith Graybill Hixon, Mount Joy; and two sisters: Jeanette, wife of Ronald L. Bernhard, Sr. and Sandra, wife of John Robert Harris, Sr., TN.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 10:00 AM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of choice.
