This book is largely historical fiction. There is just not enough information out there on Jack Hinson to fill the pages of a 400 page book.

There is controversy over the actual location of Jack Hinson's final resting place. However, he is buried at the following location...

Capt. Jack Hinson died at his residence on White Oak Creek Tuesday the 28th of April. His death was very sudden. On the morning of the day he died, he complained of a severe pain between the shoulders, remedies were applied, but no relief came until death had ended his sufferings, six hours after being taken. The attack was supposed to be meningitis. The remains were interred Thursday at Mr. Joel Boyd's on Bear Creek.óDover Record. -------- CLARKSVILLE WEEKLY CHRONICLE, May 16, 1874.

RIP sir! You were a MOST honorable war hero! Kudo's for defending your faith, family and beliefs. Even more so, for taking care of your extended family, former slaves! May God Bless your family white and black!
