Mrs. Amelia Allen is Laid to Rest
Mrs. Amelia Allen, mother of Mrs. William McKinnon, who had reached the age of 90 years at the time of her death on May 28, was laid to rest in the Highland cemetery on Saturday, May 31, following services at the Holland-Bonine chapel.
Many flowers bespoke of the friendship borne the aged woman who had made her home with her daughter in Havre for the past two years.
The pallbearers included George Rist, Harry Willits, C.M.C. Taylor, Adolph Stocklin, Henry Spooner, Walter MacKenzie.
Mrs. Allen was born in Ontario, Canada, in 1840, coming to Wisconsin at the age of 14. She was married in 1857, nine children being born to her, of whom only two survive, Mrs. William McKinnon of Havre, and Sherman Allen of Yakima who attended the funeral.
