Two pairs of brothers and one cousin left for the Civil War from this area. Only one of the five returned. Brothers Abner and Ebin Eddy died in 1861 and 1865 respectively, their cousin Henry C. Eddy died in 1865, and of brothers Henry and James Tryon, only James returned. So it goes.

Ebenezer B. Eddy, son of Myron R. Eddy and Sarah Bell, volunteered to 152nd Ind. Inf. Company C in March 1865, and died on 2 April 1865. He was a Sergeant in the Union Army.
