Era Delle Howell Alexander ,83, of Burnet died Sunday May 26, 1991. She was born September 26, 1907, in Burnet County, the daughter of Robert T. and Mable Warner Howell.

She married Cleburn Lester Alexander September 13, 1924.

During WWII, Alexander was in charge of the Federal Food Program in Pleasanton, where they did canning of vegetables in season. She was active in Burnet County Home Demonstration Clubs and the local club for the American Association for Retired Persons. She was the original organizer of the local AARP and was it's first president. She also initiated the Defensive Driving course. She was a member of the Vanderveer Church of Christ and was talented in sewing and quilting, often doing both for the public.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Marion, Lester and Jim Alexander; two daughters, Grace and Laquita, and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clebe, in 1984.

Services were held at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel with burial in Alexander Cemetery, Burnet County.

Robert Howell is buried in North Belton Cemetery and Mabel Lillie is buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Both cemeteries are in Burnet Co., TX.
