Daughter of Henry & Ella Anderson Maxwell
In 1912 the family moved from Kansas to New Market. Aden attended North Star Rural School where she graduated from 8th grade.
At 13 years of age Aden joined the Siam Christian Church and remained a member for 73 years.
On 7 Jan 1920 she married John Combs, they farmers all of their married life. In the early years they had a dairy herd and sold bottled mild and cream to New Market residents, with house to house delivery, as well as furnishing bottled mike for the New Market grocery store.
They shared their homes with two nephews, Charles and Max Shields, while the boys attend New Market High School.
Aden loved handwork and gardening but her true love was Shorthorn Cattle Association where she and Johnny both held offices in.
Aden wrote the Dallas Township news for the Clarinda Herald Journal for several years.

Funeral services were held in Clarinda with burial in Old Memory Cemetery in Taylor County Iowa.
