Tipton county lost one of its pioneer sons Tuesday afternoon when Joseph A. Lilly, one of the county's best known residents, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Omer Sloan, where he had been for some time. His condition for the past several days had been serious and became critical Monday, his children being at his bedside. Death occurred about 1 o'clock, when he passed into a quiet sleep. The body was removed to the Young funeral home on West Jefferson street for preparation and will be taken back to the home of the daughter, Wednesday noon to lie in state until the hour of funeral servies. The funeral will be held in the Sloan home, Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, with Rev. L.R. Gray officiating, and the body will be placed in a crypt in the Tipton mauseloum beside his wife. Friends may call at the Omer Sloan home at any time after Wednesday noon. Joseph A.
