MRS. HANNAH J. SMITH, NEE MOSS, DIES AT TAMALCO

Funeral Is Held at the Sorento Baptist Church Today.

Mrs. Hannah Jane Smith died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida McKeen at Tamalco, at 7 a.m., tuesday, aged 79 years, 6 months and 28 days.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today at the Baptist church in Sorento, conducted by the Rev. Newton Grigg of near Fillmore. Six of her oldest grandsons were the Pallbeards.

Her maiden name was Hannah Jane Moss, daughter of James and Caroline Moss. She was born September 19, 1849. She grew to womanhood in the vincity of Hillsboro. She attended school at the old Wilson School house. In November 1861, she was united in marriage to Abraham F. Caulk. to this union were born ten children, five dyinging in infancy. the surviving ones are John P. and Thomas F. of Old Ripely, Author C of McCoy, Virginia, Mrs. Ida McKeen of Tamalco and Elbert H. of Sorento.

She leaves behind 31 grandchildren: one brother, T. P. Moss of Sorento, and one sister Mrs. Nannie Wager of Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a lover of music and ofter had her loved ones singing during her last days. she was a devoted Christian Woman.

In March, 1918 she was married to Jacob Smith woh preceded her in death six years ago.

Aunt Hannah as she was called, was of a cheerful disposition and always willing to forgive anyone.

Take thy rest;
God call the home--
He thought it best.
