Mrs. Gesner, a native of Minnesota, had been a resident of Huntsville for 33 years. She was employed with Civil Service and was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Don Gesner; a son, Scott Gesner of Kansas; a daughter, Donna Gesner of Atlanta; a sister, Gertrude Hall of California; a brother, Bill Hall of California; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Alabama.

Mrs. Gladys Juliette Gesner, 60, of 2215 Gilbreath Road, died Tuesday at her residence. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Counts officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
