OBITUARY - Walnut Street Messenger, North Manchester (IN) - February, 1924
CHRISTIAN C., son of Isaac and Jeanette Arnold, was born near Eaton, Darke county, Ohio, April 8, 1845. He died at the Danville, Illinois Soldiers' Home February 2, 1924, age eighty years, nine months and twenty-six days.
He was a member of the Union Army during the Civil War, Company K, 118 Regiment of Indiana Volunteers.
He married Frances Truss, October 27, 1864. To this union were born four daughters: Mrs. J.W. Brubaker, Laketon, Indiana, Mrs. Mary E. Crumrine, Decatur, Illinois, Miss Dollie and Mrs. C.F. Kraning, both of North Manchester; five grandchildren and one brother, Isaac Arnold of Cerro Gordo, Illinois, complete the family circle.
He united with the Church of the Brethren at an early age and remained a member until his death. His last sickness was of short duration.
Funeral services were held at the Manchester Church by Elders Otho Winger and R.H. Miller on February 5. Burial in the cemetery by the West Manchester Church.
