Son of Ransaler and Caroline (Latie) Green. Charles' family moved to Springwater between 1850 and 1860. He had at least nine known siblings, many moving westward to Michigan and Wisconsin. He married Hannah Sawdey about 1861 and they had six children: Ida, William, Carrie, Frank, Verca and Bertha. He was a carpenter most of his life and assisted with the building of the many homes and business' in the Springwater area, including the the Advent Church. He died from a stroke in 1907.
