Not much is known about Daniel except he came from Clay Creek which is in Chesterfield County but near the N.C. state line. He was married first to Sarah Gulledge and had children: Emeline Jane Boan and Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Boan. Not much is known about Sarah except she died September 1874. Daniel married second Susannah Horne, daughter of Joel Horne and Mary Emeline Hancock. Daniel and Susannah had children: Mary Lillie Boan, Sarah (Sallie) Rose Boan, and William Joel (Joe) Daniel Boan.
