Died at Memphis."

Judson L Boughton was the son of Matthew C and Rebecca Chapman Boughton. Judson was born in Durham, Greene County, New York in 1839. His grandfather moved there from Connecticut. His own immediate family moved to Iowa, where Judson enlisted.
Judson had 6 siblings, Catherine, Joanna, Zina, Richard, Benjamin and Caroline. Judson is a direct descendant of Robert Chapman, who immigrated to America about 1636 and was a founder of Saybrook, Connecticut. He also is a direct descendant of John Bouton (Bowton) who immigrated in 1635 on the ship "Assurance". John was a founder of present day Norwalk, Connecticut.
