Philanthropist. She was the wife of Pennsylvania Congressman Alan Wood, Jr.. She moved with him to the Woodmont mansion which he had built in Lower Merion Township, but after his death, she returned to live in Conshohocken. After her death her Conshohocken home was deeded to the borough for use as a park. The Mary Wood Park still serves the citizens of Conshohocken. It is the home of the Conshohocken Historical Society, the Visiting Nurses' Association, and other cultural, service, and philanthropic groups in the town.
