From the "Fort Dodge Messenger", Fort Dodge, Iowa, July 23 1885. "Kalo-Otho" Excerpt
"The friends of Mrs. Chester Hale will be sorry to hear that she is sinking fast."
"Again the people of this community are called to mourn with those who mourn. This time it is with Mr. Chester Hale, over the loss of his companion and wife. Last Saturday the sad but not unexpected news reached us that she had passed away. For some time her life seemed to hang merely by a thread. Nearly her last words were, 'My hope is in my God above.' A large concourse of people gathered at the church last Sunday afternoon, to whom Rev. N. L. Burton preached a sermon from Mat. 12:20, after which a large procession followed her remains to their last resting place in the Otho cemetery."
"Yes, one more saint has gone from earth
To sing in the choirs above;
Where all is light, and all is joy,
Where all are met with love."
The Fort Dodge Weekly Messenger Thursday August 27, 1885.
She married Chester T. Hale 15 Sep 1877 in Webster Co., Iowa, and was the mother of John W. and Henry O. Hale
