"Last Rites Today For Pearl Adams"
"Funeral services for Pearl Adams, 76, were conducted this afternoon from the Miller funeral home, with the Rev. Barker of Humeston officiating.
Adams, a former resident of the greater Osceola community, was the son of the late R. M. and Mary Adams and was born on a farm four miles east of here.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Irena Ashby of Osceola and Mrs. Bertha Hart of Los Angeles, Calif.; two nephews, Millard Adams and Joe Scott, both of Osceola, and other relatives.
Pall bearers included Joseph Scott, Virgil Scott, Charles Ashby, Kenneth Ashby, Ray Rouche, Alvin Marquis, Floyd Newman and Harold Moran. Music was furnished by Emil Rinderspacher, with Mary Westfall accompanying. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery."

"William Pearl Adams"
"William Pearl Adams, the only son of Robert M. and Mary M. Adams, was born May 19, 1874 in Clarke county, and died Dec. 4, 1950 at his home in Humeston, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 15 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Lucy E. Johnson, September 5 1896.
Five children were born to them: Herman of Shenandoah, Edith Wallace of Osceola, Arthur of Allerton, Freda Baker of Humeston and Dale of Weldon.
He is survived by his five children; two sisters, Mrs. Irena Ashby of Osceola and Mrs. Bertha Hart of North Hollywood, Calif. and five grandchildren, Theodore and Gary Baker, Neil and Alice Adams and Arlene Wallace. Besides these he leaves many other relatives and a host of friends.
His wife preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1928 also his parents and three sisters.
He made his home in Clarke county until 1919 whe he moved to Decatur county, and the last three years of his life were spent in Humeston.
Although he has been in poor health for the last three years he has borne his suffering patiently and in good spirits.
Services were held at the Miller Funeral home in Osceola, on Thursday, December 7, with the Rev. Barker of Humseton officiating. Burial was in Mapel Hill cemetery."
