Leonard Erskine Clark was born on March 22, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was born to Ralph H. and Eliza M. (McFarland) Clark. Leonard passed away on June 5, 2006 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenadoah, Iowa at the age of 73.

After graduating from Lawton high school in Lawton, Iowa in 1951, Leonard moved to Phoenix, Arizona and later to Omaha, Nebraska before coming to Shenandoah. Leonard served in the United States Army from March of 1951 to March of 1955. He was a baker at the Safeway stores in Phoenix and at Albertson's in Omaha. Leonard retired in 1992.

Leonard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very interested in genealogy and very involved until Parkinson's prevented him.

Preceding Leonard in death were his parents Ralph and Eliza; brother, Ralph H. Clark; one niece and nephew. Survivors include his sisters, Mary Hodapp of Shenandoah, Ethelyn Doyle and her husband Donald of Imogene, IA; son, Michael and wife Kim of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Haylie and Mandi Marie (born the same day Leonard died); nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 9, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shenandoah, Iowa. Presiding and Conducting was Brother Aaron M. Green. Pianist was Randy Erhart and chorister was Joy Jones. Attending the memory register were Sue Gerner and Laline Maher. Ushers for the service were Jason Baldwin and Richard Baldwin. Casket bearers were Craig Eberly, Aaron Green, Donnie Doyle, Jason Baldwin, Richard Baldwin, Randy Erhart and Steven Dalgleish.

Interment is is Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.hackettlivingston.com
