KATHRYN LOUISE "Sweetie" NIELSEN
Kathryn was born on November 29, 1928, in Caruthers, Ca. and passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011, with her husband and children by her side. Kathryn received her teaching credentials from Fresno State College and taught at Pioneer Union Elementary School District for 16 years. She was a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Caruthers, Ca. and a devoted choir member. Kathryn was known for her loving personality and good sense of humor. Kathryn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She will be truly missed. She is survived by Raymond Nielsen of Hanford, her husband of 53 years; her children, David and Janet Nielsen of Bakersfield, Brian Nielsen of Hanford, and Darryl and Monica Nielsen of Mariposa. She was also blessed with four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her loving siblings: sister, Dorothy Brewer and her husband Robert of Fresno; brother, Lee Hammond and his wife Liz of Caruthers; as well as her numerous loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at Cherished Memories Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, at 13341 S. Quince Ave. in Caruthers, Ca. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service at Washington Colony Cemetery, in Easton, Ca. follows.
