Herbert A. Littleton
Birth: Jul. 1, 1930
Death: Apr. 22, 1951

Korean War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Mena, Arkansas, he served as a Private 1st Class in the United States Marine Corps. On April 22, 1951, at Chungehon, Korea, while standing watch a enemy force launched a night attack from nearby positions against his company. Private 1st Class Littleton quickly alerted the forward observation team and immediately moved into an advantageous position to assist in calling down artillery fire on the hostile force. When an enemy grenade was thrown into his team's position, he unhesitatingly hurled himself on the deadly missile, absorbing its full impact saving his comrades. For gallant heroism, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
