John Schee was a private of the 73rd Illinois infantry Company E in the Civil War. He was a prisoner of war at Libby Prison later at Andersonville Prison in Georgia and survived. His wife was Elizabeth Ellen Thompson. They were married 25 Aug 1851. He was a neighbor of Abraham Lincoln's father, Thomas Lincoln, and is buried in the same cemetery with him.
