Bassett.
Peter D. Craig, an aged resident of Bassett, died at his home here on Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several days. Death came as a result of infirmities of age.
The funeral services were conducted from the home.
The body was carried for burial to Buffalo Ridge in Patrick County, VA.
The deceased, who was a was a native of this county, and was born in 1838, and spent most of his life in Patrick County near Buffalo Ridge.
He served in the Confederate army with General Stonewall Jackson.
His wife, who was Miss Sallie Wood of Patrick County, died almost two and one-half years ago.
He is survived by eight children , one son, William Craig of Patrick County, and seven daughters, Mrs. Ellen Belcher, Mrs. Mary Lou Belcher, Mrs., Anna Belcher, Mrs. Emma Casswell, Mrs. Sarah Hilton, all of Patrick, and Misses Lula and Orna Craig of Bassett.
