On last Tuesday the 12th, while eating breakfast at his home near Price, N.C., Mr. N. C. DeShazo died suddenly from heart failure.
He was born Nov. 13th, 1836.
He was a member of the 42nd Va. Regiment during the Civil War.
He was married to Miss Virginia Smith of Stoneville, N.C., who was a daugher of Walker Smith of Rockingham County, N.C.
Of the fifteen children of this union, three died in infancy, and one son, Bebe, died after reaching manhood, leaving eleven to mourn their loss, as follows:
Prof. Geo. W. DeShazo of Draper, N.C.; Charles N. of Danville; John F. of Leaksville, N.C., J. W. of Bluefield, W. Va.; R. T. of Roanoke; W. T. Jr. of Ridgeway; H. F. of Price, N.C., Posey of Bluefield, W. Va., and Mrs. Sam F. Taylor of Reidsville, N.C.; Mrs. Frank N. Flynn of Leaksville, N. C.; and Mrs. Harvey Glenn of Stoneville, N.C.
He was a member of the family of George K. DeShazo, of Mayo.
He was a grandson of William DeShazo of Leatherwood, Henry County, Va., who was a neighbor of Patrick Henry and a distinguished Soldier of the Revolutionary War.
He was buried near his home.
