Robert W. Daw
TRAVERSE City -- Robert W. Daw, 94, a resident of Traverse City since 1967, died Feb. 5 at Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility.
He was born in Elk Rapids Township on Aug. 27, 1885, the son of William and flora (Case) Daw. He lived on the West Coast for many years before returning to Traverse City. A cook, he also was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Paul Bunyan Barracks 403.
Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leamond Lake of Williamsburg; a son-in-law John Gilmer of California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His wife, Erma, preceded him in death, as did his parents and step-daughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Reynolds-Hanson Funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Jaquish officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
