Robenia Jeanette Adams, 70, of 46 John Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since October 18, 1999.

Born in Dadeville, Alabama on March 28, 1930, daughter of Champ and Lucille Frazier Greathouse, she attended schools there and moved to Pittsfield in 1956.

Mrs. Adams was employed by the Pittsfield Housing Authority as a social worker for seventeen years, retiring in 1984 because of ill health. She was a member of Price Memorial AME Zion Church and had served on the boards of the Christian Center and Berkshire Community Action Council. She enjoyed gardening and working with people.

Her first husband, Curtis Sistrunk, died in 1990. Her husband, Henry Adams, died in 1995.

She leaves four sons, Curtis Sistrunk, Willie Sistrunk, Henry T. Adams, and James N. Adams, all of Pittsfield; four daughters, Claudette M. Roberts-Ledbetter, Judy B. Adams-Chadwell, Theresa Mongin, and Cynthia Adams, all of Pittsfield; four brothers, Isaac Frazier of Pittsfield, Robert M. Frazier and the Rev. Andrew Greathouse, both of Camp Hill, Alabama; and Harvey Frazier of Auburn, Alabama; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Adams is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Price Memorial AME Zion Church on Linden Street, with the Rev. Willard Durant, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Zion East Missionary Baptist Church in Dadeville, Alabama.
Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
