Anna Theresa (Ponsonby) Hamilton, 87, of Dravosburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at UPMC McKeesport. She was born Feb. 20, 1925, in McKeesport, to the late Patrick and Jeannie (McKnight) Ponsonby. Anna was a McKeesport High School Graduate and during World War II she worked at the Christy Park Works Mill. For more than 30 years she was affiliated with the Girl Scouts of America as a former troop leader for Troop No. 1296, in Dravosburg, leading both juniors and cadets, was an elder with the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania and an avid camper and volunteer with the scouts. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary Chapter No. 9 military order of the Purple Heart and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in McKeesport. Anna also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 380, in Dravosburg, the Christian Mothers at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in McKeesport, the Catholic Golden Agers and a member of the Alley Cats bowling team from the Playmor Lanes, in West Mifflin. She was the chief organizer and historian for the first modern Ponsonby Family reunion and subsequent reunions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Hamilton; and siblings, Isabelle, Geraldine, Germaine, Bill and Patsy.
