Some sources report that Ema Heela lived one hundred years to 1914, but that has not been verified. Her twin, Ezra Heela Allen met an untimely death as a Mormon Battalion soldier in the Serria Nevada Mountains. As a scout for his troop returning from the California gold fields, he was supposidly attacked & killed by Digger Indians at Tragedy Spring.

After their mother's death, their father married Esther Newton.
