American marines In Nicaragua ave suffered their first serious casualty, since they were dispatched to that war torn country last January for the announced purpose of protecting American lives and property.
Captain Richard R. Buchanan, of this city, and Private Marvin A. Jackson, of Chicago, were killed, and two other marines wounded, the navy was advised officially late today, when a "Guorrila band" of Nicaraguans attacked an American detachment at 2 a.m. today, at Las Centro, near Leon.
Corporal Anthony J. Bausch of Philadelphia, and Private William K. Simon, whose address wan not given. were wounded.
