Dakin, Mile H. Enlisted in company C, Ninth Cavalry, Feb. 16, 1864, at Jackson, for 3 years, age 18. Mustered Feb. 16, 1864. Joined regiment at Nicholasville, Ky., May 5, 1864. On detached service in General Sherman's escort. Mustered out at Lexington, N.C. July 21, 1865.

His name was misspelled as Mile, but is really Milo.

His death date is noted on his military papers along with his stays at the old soldiers homes, which is here I believe he died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His wife is buried in the same cemetery and his son Sherman was listed as next of kin and lived in Saginaw.
