Lloyd grew up in the Follett and Higgins, Texas area. He attended school in both towns and graduated with the Class of 1962 from Higgins High School. While in high school he worked for Vester Smith and Bill Schultz doing ranch work. Shortly after graduation he attended the Oklahoma Ferrier College at Tulsa, Oklahoma. On March 27, 1976 Lloyd was united in marriage to Carol Sue Horner. They were married in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of twin daughters, Marlene and Darlene.
Lloyd and Carol made their first home in Booker, Texas for a short while. Lloyd worked for Robert Schultz. They moved from there to Laverne, Oklahoma where they remained for several years while Lloyd worked for Allen Barby. In 1990, the whole family moved to Higgins, Texas and Lloyd worked again for Vester Smith. In 1996 Lloyd and Carol moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where they have remained until his death. Lloyd worked for the Woodward County District No. 3.
Lloyd enjoyed hunting and fishing, flying radio controlled airplanes and his special dog, Pistol. His favorite time was being with family and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Lee and Thelma Faye Gifford; brother-in-law, George Sunderland and one nephew.
