Enlisted as private in Company B, Indiana 34th Infantry Regiment on 30 Sep 1861. Promoted to Full Corporal. Mustered out on 3 Feb 1866.

1870: Residing Indiana State Prison, Jeffersonville Twsp, Clark County, Indiana. Single. Inmate.

Springfield, Ill., March 13: Gov. Fifer has pardoned Perry Burke, who in 1888 was convicted of horse stealing at the February term of the McLean County circuit court and sentenced to ten years imprisonment at Joliet. Burke was an old soldier and there are many mitigating circumstances.
