Albert McMahon was born on March 25, 1858 in Monroe County, Ohio.

Not much is known about his parents, early life or education. It is known that he was able to read and write though.

On July 7, 1881 in New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia he married Amanda Elizabeth "Lizzie" Butler. They were married at the home of Minister R.W. Lauck of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Together Albert and Lizzie had 7 children: Martha LaVerne (1881-1975), Charles (1882-1900), Clifton (1882-1900), Robert Elsworth (1887-1936), Albert Ulysses (1888-1960), Leena (1892-1950) and Mamie (1892-1892).

Albert rented a farm in Proctor, Wetzel County, West Virginia for awhile. During this time he was a farmer.

Sometime between 1901 and 1910 he moved his family to nearby Washington County, Ohio. There they found and rented a house in the city of Marietta.

Soon after their move, on January 25, 1912, his wife of 31 years died at the age of 53.

Albert's occupation changed often. In 1920 he was a laborer in Junk Yards and by 1930 he had returned to farming.

On January 19, 1933 at 9PM at his residence on Charles Street in Marietta he died. His cause of death was Coronary Thrombosis (Heart Attack). Two days later, he was buried in Gravel Bank Cemetery.
