CHILD DIES FROM A CRUSHED SIDE
Falls From a Wagon and Wheels Pass Over Her
Funeral services for Rosa J. Blankenship, 6, who died Sunday from injuries received when she fell from a wagon and the wheels passed over her, near her home, Hartselle Route 3, were conducted Sunday afternoon at New Center by Rev. J. T. Blankenship. Burial there was in charge of Drinkard-Howell of Hartselle.
The little girl with her brother, Neal Blankenship and a sister, were riding on a wagon load of lumber. A bird flew up from the side of the road and frightened the team of mules. The animals lurched forward, causing the child to fall to the ground, the wheels of the wagon passing over her and crushing her side. She was brought to Benevolent Society Hospital here for treatment, but later returned to her home.
The parents, Mr and Mrs J. E. Blankenship; a brother Neal, and four sisters, Trixie, Bernice, Claudia Mae and Cora Lee survive.
