Newell and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Edith age 14 and son Judson age 5 are found in 1880 Nebraska, Boone Co., Oakland census. Newell's parents Jehiel and Jane M. each age 80 were living in the same household. The name is the index was spelled Gamard so this surname has various spellings. By 1900 Newell and family were in Brooks, Marion County, Oregon.
