E. Gordon Pullar
BEDFORD -- E. Gordon Pullar, 79, died May 6, 2009, at Ridgewood Center, following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born March 13, 1930, in Hartford, Conn., to Emmett and Alyce (Ray) Pullar. He was raised and educated in Hartford, attending Deerfield Academy. He graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He worked as a sales manager for International Paper for many years before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Amherst Lions Club.
He enjoyed playing golf, camping and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Martha (Stewart) Pullar, on Aug. 8, 1988.
Family members include his wife of eight years, Rose (Choquette) Pullar of Bedford; three sons, Thomas Pullar of South Berwick, Maine, Timothy Pullar of Longwood, Fla., and Charles Pullar of Durham; two daughters, Alyce Reilly of Mont Vernon, and Anne Pullar of Manchester; two stepdaughters, Deborah Payne of Springfield, Mass., and Leslie VanSickler of Weare; two stepsons, Michael Grady of Wilbraham, Mass., and Lee Grady of Manchester; seven grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester are Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst.
