Gary Wayne Silvers died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1992, at the age of 38.
Funeral services are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Max Rudd and Dr. Joe Stumbaugh will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Stillwater Nov. 11, 1953, the son of Bob and Mary (Dry) Silvers. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1972 and completed the School of Auctioneering at Drumright Vo-Tech. From 1972-73 he worked for Central Rural Electric Cooperative. In 1976 he opened Silvers Feeds and was its owner until his death.
He attended Lost Creek United Methodist Church and was a member of the Payne County Fair Board and Payne County District 3 Water Board.
Survivors include his parents of Stillwater; maternal grandmother, Ella Dry, Stillwater; parental grandmother, Elva Silvers, Guthrie; two brothers and siters-in-law, Dean and Faye Silvers, Stillwater and Don and Brenda Silvers, Glencoe; one niece, Bailey Silvers and a nephew, Colt Silvers.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Edmondson, David Casey, Mike Schroeder, Bill Foote, Bill Lile and George Scott.
Acting as honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Payne County Fair Board and the Payne County District 3 Water Board.
