Mrs. Lelia Jacobs Bowman, 90, widow of Charles W. Bowman and member of a prominent Brownsville family, died at 5 a.m. on January 2 at her home (Bowmanís Castle) on Front Street.
Mrs. Bowman was the daughter of John Nelson and Sarah Colvin Jacobs and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Her death leaves the stately brick edifice known locally as Bowmanís Castle unoccupied by a Bowman for the first time in nearly two centuries.
Surviving are two sons, Charles, Paston, Maryland; and Nelson, Uniontown.
