DELAWARE, Ohio -- A local man told a judge yesterday that he takes "complete responsibility" for his role in the morphine-related overdose of 15-year-old Samantha James.

Judge Everett Krueger of Delaware County Common Pleas Court sentenced Jason McCumber to five years of community control: "You took part in taking someone's life."
McCumber, 19, of Delaware, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking on March 5.

DELAWARE, Ohio -- A Rutherford B. Hayes High School student and a recent Hayes graduate were indicted yesterday in the death of a 15-year-old girl who consumed a mixture of morphine and over-the-counter cough medicine.
Spencer Huston, 16, of Delaware, was indicted on a felony charge of corrupting another with drugs in the death of Samantha James, a Hayes classmate.
