BELOVED LADY CALLED HOME

Mrs. Alice Britnell Chenault, prominent and widely-known resident of this city, passed away Sunday at 1:45 p.m. At her home, 506 Grant Street, following an extended illness.
The beloved widow of the late Morris Chenault, was born in Franklin County, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Britnell, and Mary Elizabeth Nesmith Britnell. Before her marriage, she taught school in Franklin and Lawrence Counties. Since 1907 she had made her home in Decatur.
The funeral cortege will leave the residence on Grant Street at 10:15 Tuesday morning for the Central Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 by Revs. W. P. Wilkes, a former pastor, Paul Roberts, and E. M. Chapman. Interment will follow in the city cemetery with Brown directing.
Mrs. Chenault, a member of the Mizpah chapter 19 of the Order of the Eastern Star, is survived by four daughters, Mrs. T. E. McGee of Florence, Mrs. W. H. Harding of Moulton, Mrs. J. C. Taylor of Charleston, South Carolina, and Mrs. W. J. Jones of Alexandria, LA.; and two sons, J. M. Chenault, stationed at Keesler Field, Miss., with the US Army, and B. F. Chenault of Decatur. She leaves the folling grandchildren: John Thomas McGee, Walter Morris Chenault II, and Alice Adele Chenault.
Pallbearers will be C. C. Johnson, Robert Harrison, Harry Wyatt, John Peach, Charles Eyster, and John Caddell.
