Isaac McConnell

Death: Mar. 11, 1900

Isaac McConnell was born in Hall County, GA. He was the son of Anna Townsend and Maj. John McConnell, Jr. Both Anna and John Jr.'s fathers fought in the Revolutionary War. John McConnell, Jr. fought in the War of 1812.

In 1840, Isaac married Elizabeth Strickland, the daughter of a Methodist Minister, Simeon Strickland. Isaac, his parents and his grandparents were Presbyterian.

Isaac was a successful merchant in Marietta, Georgia, but after the devastation of Georgia after the Civil War, he moved his family to Texas, moving to Johnson County about 1868, and then to Parker County, near Aledo, about 1870.

After the death of his first wife, Elizabeth, Isaac returned to Georgia and married a widow in Marietta, by the name of Campbell, and they returned to Texas, and lived in a house he built in Aledo.

After his second wife died, he married a widow from Weatherford.
