Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Carroll Co.:
BENJAMIN F. BOND, a native of Carroll County, Ky., was born September 4, 1833, the fourth son of William and Harriet (Scott) Bond, natives of Virginia and Carroll County, Ky., respectively. John Scott, the maternal grandfather of B. F. Bond, was a native of Ireland, and a Baptist minister; he lived near Ghent, Carroll County, where he died about 1847. John Bond, paternal grandfather of our subject, was a native of Virginia, a farmer by occupation, and one of the pioneer settlers of Carroll County. William Bond, the father of Benjamin F., served under R. M. Johnson in the war of 1812; he died in January, 1864, in his seventieth year. Benjamin F. Bond was educated in the common schools, and has always followed farming as an occupation; he now owns a farm of 210 acres, five miles from Carrollton on the Eagle Pike. In October, 1867, he married Miss Fannie Barrett, a native of Carroll County, and daughter of Magruder and Margaret Barrett, natives of Virginia. Five children blessed this union: Robert A., Clarence M., Jennie, Abbie E. and May T.
